About Us

Rebecca Corby, Owner and Lead Chef: 


After many years of experience in the restaurant industry and honing her personal style of plant-based cuisine, Rebecca created Green Island Catering. Since 2009, Green Island has catered dozens of events in the Hill Country area including weddings, "Meatless Monday'' office lunches, board meetings, and private parties. Our clients include vegetarians, vegans, people with food allergies and omnivores alike. We aim to please all palettes.

 Green refers to our cuisine being sustainable and 100% plant based (see more below on green values). Rebecca also lived on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii for 6 years and loves to keep little reminders around. At Green Island, we believe that food should not only taste good, but should be good for your body, the planet and all animals. We also know that inventive combinations of herbs and spices is what makes food taste great and love taking inspiration from many different cuisines. Browse our menus and you will find a mouth-watering array of Italian, Thai, Indian, Latin, Greek, Middle-Eastern, Chinese, Japanese and Carribean inspired dishes!

Green Island Catering is Permitted and Insured.
We use a commercial kitchen in East Austin.
"Green" is more than just a trend to us. We practice sustainability most of all by using and promoting a plant-based diet which is proven to use much less resources and causes much less destruction to the earth, our bodies and the animals we share the planet with. In addition to practicing and promoting this sustainable way of eating, we use recyclable and compostable materials to minimize waste and purchase locally as much as possible. We also donate leftover un-wanted food to area homeless shelters.
