About Us
Rebecca Corby, Owner and Lead Chef:
Rebecca has been delighting her friends and family with delicious vegetarian and vegan creations for over 13 yrs and has over 10 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. In 2009 Rebecca decided to turn her passion into business and created "Green Island Catering" with the belief that food should not only taste good, but should be good for your body, the planet and all animals. Rebecca believes that inventive combinations of herbs and spices are what makes food taste good and loves taking inspiration from many different cultures around the world.
Georgianne Austin:
Georgianne has a passion for baking decadent desserts and baked goods that have significantly lower fat and cholesterol without compromising taste. Georgianne began studying vegan cuisine when she and her husband realized there is a healthier and cruelty free way of living and eating.
Marcus Whitmore:
Marcus attended "Texas Culinary Academy" and came to us eager to expand his knowledge in vegan cuisine. Marcus has a diverse background which includes service in the Marine Corps, a Biology degree in progress and also plans to attend Medical school to further his inquiry into the role that diet plays on overall health.
Green Island Catering is Permitted and Insured. We currently use a commercial kitchen in East Austin that is routinely inspected as required by law.
We practice green techniques in our business by recycling, purchasing local produce as much as possible and best of all by using only plant based ingredients-- it's better for you, our fellow earthlings and the planet we live on!
